Residential Patrol Check Results In Two Arrests

On August 29, 2013 at approximately 2:40AM, a MVPD officer was on patrol in a residential area of Pachetti and Showers Drives when he stopped a silver Honda Accord for various vehicle code violations. The vehicle was occupied by Suspect Luis Rubio, the driver, out of East Palo Alto, and Suspect Jaime Trinidad, the passenger, out of Mountain View.

During the course of his contact and investigation, an officer determined Suspects Rubio and Trinidad were attempting to discard or conceal what was believed to be drugs in their vehicle. Additionally he found hand-held radios and a car stereo, which is thought to have been stolen. Suspects Rubio and Trinidad were arrested and charged with 11350(A) of the Health & Safety Code (Possession of a Controlled Substance) and 135 of the Penal Code (Destroying or Concealing Evidence). Suspect Rubio was also charged with 466 of the Penal Code (Possession of Burglary Tools) as he had in his possession a pry tool. Both suspects were booked into the San Jose Main Jail without incident.
