Multiple Arrests Made Thanks To Suspects Located By K9 Odin

DSC_1119On February 7, 2014 at around 4:00AM, Officer St. Laurent came across a recently unoccupied stolen vehicle located on the 1400 block of Wildrose Way. Its occupants had eluded Officer St. Laurent before he could make contact with them. That’s when K9 Odin, who many of you will recall joined the force in April of 2013, was called in to assist. Odin may have been all puppy paws last year, but on the morning of the 7th, he was nothing but business.

Officer Dorene Hansen, Odin’s handler, worked with Officer St. Laurent to start tracking the scent of the stolen vehicle’s occupants. Odin led officers to the rear of a nearby townhouse where the suspects were confronted. Two of the three suspects were apprehended thanks to Odin while the third suspect took off on-foot. An extensive area check for the third suspect did not reveal their identity and that individual is still outstanding.

However, suspects Sarah Bragg, a 27 year-old female out of Mountain View, and Parhum Alvandipour, an 18 year-old male out of San Jose, were arrested for a variety of charges ranging from possession of a stolen vehicle to narcotics and warrants. “We are very fortunate to have an extremely talented K9 team here at MVPD,” said Lt. Fisher who oversees this unit. “We utilize our K9s for more than protection work, as Odin demonstrated. Tracking takes patience, dedication and practice, and Officer Hansen and Odin are a testament to those essential characteristics.”

The third suspect is still wanted. If you have any information about this individual, please contact MVPD at 650-903-6344 and reference case number 14-00696. You can also send an anonymous text to 274637, but be sure to include “mvtips” in the body of your message.
