On May 26, 2014 at 1:40AM officers responded to an in-progress burglary at 2490 Old Middlefield Road, CalMoto BMW Motorcycle Dealership. One suspect, 35-year-old Medardo Rivas Aguirre out of Mountain View and Sunnyvale, was arrested at the store while a second suspect, 20-year-0ld William Rivas Aguirre out of Santa Clara, was found and arrested in a nearby neighborhood. The investigation continued and led detectives to the residence of Doris Zepeda, a 50 year-old female, and Miguel Paz, a 46 year-old male, in San Jose where a search warrant was executed in June. Numerous items believed to be stolen were recovered from this residence and Miguel Paz was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and Burglary.
Since that time detectives have been working tirelessly to reunite the property with their rightful owners. Ultimately nine separate residential burglary victims positively identified their property and Doris Zepeda was additionally arrested for Possession of Stolen Property.
“Being able to return these stolen items to their rightful owners hopefully brings some closure to all the victims of these thefts,” said Detective Andrew Wong who is the primary investigator of this case. “It’s another example of Mountain View PD’s aggressive stance on crime – we don’t stop.”
There are additional items that have yet to be reunited. A list of items and photographs can be found on our Pinterest page.
