K9 Odin Finds Suspect Who Flees From Officer

Odin 1.09.15Odin may be the youngest K9 on the team, but he is certainly one of the busiest. Assigned to Patrol Team 4, Officer Dorene Hansen and her partner, Odin, recently found a suspect who fled from an officer on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at around 9:26PM.

While driving along the 1800 block of Villa Street, an officer saw two subjects standing near a wall in an area where recent graffiti has been found. When the same subjects noticed the officer, they fled on foot leaving an area where freshly applied graffiti was located.

One suspect, later identified as a juvenile, was seen to the rear of a building along the 200 block of Higdon Avenue. With K9 Odin on a short leash, Officer Hansen began a systematic search of the area with K9 Odin who led her to where one of the juveniles was hiding. This same juvenile also had a backpack that contained a BB gun and spray paint. The subject was placed under arrest without incident.
