It’s that time of year again! The Mountain View Police Officer’s Association would like to invite you to the 19th Annual Cops & Gobblers event, a Thanksgiving food drive for the citizens of Mountain View! The brain child of retired Officer Steve Mello, the Cops and Gobblers Thanksgiving Food Drive provides complete meals to Mountain View families in need.  Details are below, which we hope you’ll share with your family, friends, and co-workers to help bring some much needed cheer to our local families.

Are children welcome to volunteer at this event, and if so, what age? What happens at the event? What do volunteers do? Do we bring donations of food also? More info appreciated.

Yes! We just ask that there be direct parental supervision if you choose to bring kids. They should be capable of putting items like food, cans, etc into laundry baskets. The morning starts off with giant assembly lines where volunteers load up the gift baskets with food and thanksgiving supplies. Cash donations are appreciated over food donations since the cash will allow us to purchase the same items for each gift basket. Volunteers are also needed to help deliver the completed baskets to families around town. Thank you so much for your willingness to help!
