Do you recognize us? Thieves filmed pillaging parcel on Beatrice

UPDATE 10:40 a.m.: Since yesterday’s posting, we have received hundreds of tips from our community on the identities of the package thieves. We so appreciate everyone who reached out to help.

Because of your help, we have been able to identify the two females from the incident. Both the females are under 18 years old, and because of that, we will not be identifying them, as they are juveniles.

We are still working to identify the two males in the images and the video. We would welcome any information anyone has on their identity. To reach us, please call 650-903-6395.

The Mountain View Police Department needs your help identifying a group of package thieves.

On Jan. 11 around 2:43 p.m., home surveillance footage captured a group of two males and two females who were walking past a home on the 200 block of Beatrice Street. The group stopped in front of a home and walked up to the porch. The two females, then took two packages that had been delivered to the home earlier that day.

The group left, but roughly 15 minutes later returned to the home. Initially, one of the male suspects can be seen walking by the home carrying an orange bag that was consistent with the contents belonging inside one of the boxes. The second male then is seen walking up to the end of the driveway and stopping, apparently to watch the street.

The two females again go up to the porch and one of them begins shaking the lock to try and open the front door.

One of the females notices the camera, and the two quickly leave the front porch and walk down the street.

The suspects are described as:

  • Suspect #1: A Hispanic female wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue skinny jeans and black slip-on shoes. She has long black hair and an average build.
  • Suspect #2: A Hispanic female wearing dark-framed glasses, a pink hooded sweatshirt, black skinny jeans and black and white shoes. She has long, curly hair and is wearing a black and multicolored backpack.
  • Suspect #3: A Hispanic or white male wearing a red baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, khaki colored pants and white shoes.
  • Suspect #4: A Hispanic or white male wearing a dark colored baseball cap with a red rim, a black hooded sweatshirt, light colored shirt and dark, slim cut jeans.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the suspects can contact the Mountain View Police Department at 650-903-6395.

TIPS: Having something delivered to your home? Consider these tips to help ensure that your packages are delivered safely and that they are not taken! For example, you can schedule your package delivery for a time that you are home. You can also have your packages delivered to your work during business hours.

If you feel comfortable doing so, you can have the package either delivered to a neighbor or have a neighbor pick up the package from your front porch and keep it for you until you get home. If you are an Amazon user, you can take advantage of Amazon Locker, where you can pick up your package from local pickup locations.
