Welcome back, listeners! It’s a very special edition of the Mountain View Police Department’s “Silicon Valley Beat.”
It’s Super Bowl weekend here in Mountain View, with the Big Game set for Sunday, Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Mountain View will be playing a crucial role in getting folks to the stadium in time for kick-off. We are what has been dubbed the “transit hub,” where people traveling on Caltrain from San Francisco down through the Peninsula will be disembarking at the Caltrain station in downtown Mountain View to board VTA trains, which will head directly to the stadium.
Our own Captain Jessica Nowaski sits down with us to talk about Mountain View and SB50, including what road closures residents will be in place and what residents can expect on Game Day.
For more details on road closures, the Farmer’s Market and downtown traffic on Super Bowl Sunday, see our blog post here.
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Mountain View is home to world-renowned organizations including Google, LinkedIn, Symantec and WhatsApp. And it just so happens to house us, the Mountain View Police Department, as well!
