MVPD needs your help identifying this man

Mountain View police are asking your help identifying a man who acted inappropriately toward two women along Stevens Creek Trail last Monday. Do you know him?

Around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 15, a man attempted to start a conversation with a woman who was walking along the trail near El Camino Real. The woman, who felt uncomfortable, began to jog away from the man. But, the man then ran after the woman, who picked up her pace and was able to outrun him.

Around 2 p.m. that same day, another woman reported to police that a man matching the same description from the incident a half-hour before had tried to take her cell phone.

The man is described as a black or Hispanic man in his mid-30s, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stocky build. He has a shaved head, a mustache and was last seen wearing glasses, a gray sweater, long black shorts that stopped at his ankles and tan Timberland shoes.

One of the victims said the man was talking to himself before he approached her.

If you recognize the man, please contact Det. Kevin Galloway at or call him at 650-903-6624.
