Around 7:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Mountain View police responded to the intersection of Grant Road and Martens Avenue for reports of a collision involving several vehicles.
When officers arrived, they saw that four cars were involved in the collision. The intersection was immediately closed and traffic was diverted around the scene. Four people, who were not seriously injured, were transported to the hospital for treatment. At this time, it does not appear that either drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
Prior to the collision, witnesses told police the driver of the car hit at least one car along westbound Highway 237. Despite some speculation, there was no vehicle chase prior to the collision at Grant and Martens. We are not identifying the driver of the vehicle at this time. No one was arrested or cited in this incident.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured and the intersection was re-opened roughly one hour after the crash was reported.
