Three Mountain View High School students were arrested today for allegedly making threats on social media over the weekend.
Last night, our officers learned about the threats that had been posted onto a social media site that referenced potential harm to students and staff at Mountain View High School. All three student were detained, interviewed and subsequently arrested for PC 422, making threats, and PC 182, conspiracy to commit a crime. Because all three are juveniles, we will not be releasing their identities. Out of an abundance of caution, we increased our presence at MVHS today.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and anyone with any additional information can contact Sgt. Ken Leal at 650-903-6344.
We want to take a moment to remind those who use social media that anything that is posted that comes across as a threat will be taken seriously. Students and staff should feel safe at all times at their school, and if you see something that is of concern, either in person or on the Internet, call us.
