To Grandmother’s House We Go: Some Thanksgiving Safety Tips to Get You There

Did you know that nearly 50 million people are expected to travel this Thanksgiving weekend? FIFTY MILLION.

So, with so many people in the skies and on the road, we thought we’d share a few tips to make sure you get to grandma’s house on time for that awesome turkey dinner.

First, take a moment to check the weather along your route. Make sure there are no unexpected storms that may inhibit your journey. Always buckle up and slow down. Don’t ever drive impaired or drive distracted (i.e. put away those cell phones).

Feeling groggy from all that tryptophan? Make sure you are well rested and alert before you begin your journey home. Also, go ahead and clean your headlights, taillights, signal lights and windows to help you see, especially at night. If your car is having any issues and you need to pull over, pull off the road as far as possible!

If you’re flying for Thanksgiving, remember that everything you touch has probably been touched by someone else. So, carry hand sanitizer and wash your hands as often as possible! Also, avoid touching your face or eyes.

With all that said, travel safely, everyone! And have a very happy Thanksgiving!
