Mountain View police arrested two people Wednesday believed to be connected to several home burglaries in the area.
In the early morning hours on Tuesday, two officers were on foot patrol in the 700 block of Continental Circle when they spotted two people sitting inside a car. Given the late hour, and that no other cars in the area were occupied, our officers approached the car. Inside the car were 46-year-old Michael Wiggins and 37-year-old Rohnita Prasad, who appeared to be living in the car, along with Prasad’s seven-month-old son.
While speaking with the pair, officers learned the car had been stolen out of a Mountain View resident’s garage back in October, and mail from other Mountain View residents as well as stolen items and packages were also found inside the car.
Wiggins and Prasad were detained and brought back to Mountain View PD, where they were subsequently arrested on multiple charges of residential burglary, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics, possession of burglary tools and child endangerment.
We believe there may be additional burglary victims stemming from this case, based on the fact that the pair did not ransack homes during their burglaries and only specific items were taken. If you have additional information on this case or if you believe you were a victim, please check your homes to make sure all your belongings are there.
