With the holidays in our rear view mirror and our children all settled back in school, the Mountain View Police Department’s Traffic Unit would like to take a moment to remind parents of the importance of dropping off and picking up your children safely.
Some tips on how to get to and from school safely:
- Leave plenty of time to find parking
- Mind your speeds in and around schools (speeds are either 15 mph or 25 mph)
- Do not double park or leave your vehicle standing in the street
- Do not park in red zones
- Do not block neighborhood driveways
The Traffic Unit will be enforcing traffic violations in and around our schools throughout the New Year. Make sure to stay tuned for updates and specific locations from Mountain View PD.
If you have any questions about traffic-related issues, please do not hesitate to contact Sgt. Saul Jaeger at 650-903-6733 or saul.jaeger@mountainview.gov
Traffic safety is everyone’s responsibility. Our goal is to make sure children and their parents get to and from school safely, every day.
