A man caught sitting inside a Starbucks with glass shards on his clothes and around him on the floor was arrested for commercial burglary this week.
Around 5:37 am on Wednesday, our officers responded to a commercial burglary on the 200 block of Castro Street. The front window pane was smashed, and doors to the business were opened.
Our officers quickly began an area check, and we soon spotted 29-year-old German Lopez sitting inside the Starbucks on Castro Street. Our officer saw Lopez had glass fragments on his shirt, on his pants and even around him on the floor where he was seated.
Lopez was detained and during the course of our investigation was subsequently connected to the commercial burglary. He was arrested and booked in the Santa Clara County Jail.
