MVPD Agent Investigates Serial Server Burglar Leading To Arrest

Mountain View Police Department is fortunate to participate in several county-wide task forces one of which is REACT, a high-tech crimes team consisting of 12 local, state and federal agencies headed by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

Agent LeDang, who currently represents MVPD on this task force, began investigating a serial server burglar resulting in the arrest of Andrew Madrid. Last week, Madrid was charged with 36 felonies, including 24 counts of commercial burglary, five counts of identity theft and six counts of theft or possession of stolen property and a count of possessing methamphetamine. Investigators believe Madrid is responsible for many other commercial burglaries in the Bay Area. Anyone with information related to this string of burglaries is asked to call Agent LeDang at (408) 282-2434.


Detective Hung LeDang has been with MVPD for over 14 years. Det. LeDang was assigned to the Crimes Against Persons Unit as a Detective from 2008 to 2012. Currently, he holds a post with the Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team (REACT) Task Force. Outside of work, Det. LeDang is very involved in community services. He was one of the twenty-one people selected by the San Jose City Council to work to on the Vietnamese American Community Center (VACC) project.
